The first Hajj flight from Bangladesh that was scheduled for May 31, has been rescheduled for June 5, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The first Hajj flight from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport has been rescheduled to ensure that pilgrims' pre-arrival immigration processes in Dhaka are completed properly.

"The Saudi Arabian authority has informed Bangladesh that its 40-member Road to Makkah Initiative team – equipped with pre-arrival immigration devices – will be unable to arrive before June 2. As installing the devices at the airport will take a few days, the ministry has decided to begin Hajj flights on June 5," State Minister for Religious Affairs, Faridul Haque Khan, told The Daily Star.

The ministry has also asked that the relevant authorities in Bangladesh take necessary measures to begin flights on the rescheduled date.
