Sumaya Khan Couture
With the arrival of a new year comes the arrival of the much-awaited wedding season. Deciding between dilemmas about what to wear and what is currently trending, dress up this wedding season with astonishing attires from Sumaya Khan Couture.
A lawyer by profession and designer by passion, Sumaya Khan, creative head and designer of Sumaya Khan Couture, is the woman behind this budding brand. Hitting the road on August 2018, she started her new venture on a path to pursue her passion.
Selling out their first collection within days, the initial success is what fuelled her to move forward. Now, Sumaya Khan Couture has achieved their first milestone after a successful completion of the first year in business. Currently, they are offering their services through both online and offline platforms.
Sumaya Khan creates her own style rather than following a given trend. Aspired by what Begums and Nawabs used to wear, clothes designed by her have a conventional touch.
"With every step, I am learning new things, and I think that is the beauty of this profession," says Khan.
Sumaya Khan Couture houses an array of outfits, ranging from chic kurtis, traditional shalwar kameez, fashionable saris, stylish ghararas and exotic bridal lehengas. The Autumn/Winter - 2019 collection is inspired by Kashmiri concept. From thick, white embroidery on pastel colours to colourful thread work on black, there is something in store for everyone.
The bridal collection for this season features unique and bold lehengas, paired with plain tops and net dupattas. The lehengas are one of a kind that blend traditional fabrics and designs perfectly. You can also create your own pairings through customised orders.
The lehengas have an elaborate work of traditional Benaroshi design on bright colours; crimson, plum and teal. Kalka and 'dabka' patterns are common on them, while the first glance speaks volumes about the quality of fabric. These attires will truly make a bride dazzle on their big day, garnering a flurry of good comments.
For holud and mehendi ceremonies, they have a classy collection of bridal wear featuring zari work based on velvet for the top along with ghararas for the bottom. This will also ensure utmost comfort during the cold winter nights. Although the outfits mostly consist of light shades, colour customisation is available. All their apparels in the bridal collection are fully handstitched.
Sumaya Khan Couture leaves no stone unturned to assist the bride in every way. Exceeding expectations with their top-notch quality and impeccable customer service, they have everything covered. All their bridal attires are delivered inside a pretty trunk, with the bride's name imprinted on the inside. This gives the bride the feeling of receiving a gift and taking a trunk full of memories while transitioning onto a new phase of life.
