Disney's Cinderella premieres at Star Cineplex

Glass slippers, evil step mothers, pumpkin carriages and fairy godmothers – the story of Cinderella has captivated children for ages. And after all this time, it still manages to pull at the heartstrings of children and adults alike.
The animated Disney production is something a lot of us grew up watching. Now, Disney has rebooted the story into a live action movie starring Lily James, Richard Madden and Cate Blanchet – the perfect movie to watch with children and your loved ones.
On March 12, Cinderella premiered at the Star Cineplex with fanfare worthy of one of the greatest children's story ever told. Featuring a red carpet reception and performers in character costumes, Star Cineplex was lively with decorations and a musical ambience.
Children were ecstatic to see their favourite Disney characters come to life as performers in blue ball gowns danced around with Prince Charming. Mahboob Rahman kicked off the premiere. Not only children, the event was attended by adults of all ages as they came to relive their childhood. After the performances and a short refreshment, the movie started.
Disney has done a tremendous job of turning Cinderella into a live-action film. From the casting to the cinematography and set, everything was a reminder of the story we all grew up listening to. For fans, it was an added bonus when Helena Bonham Carter makes her appearance as the fairy godmother in her characteristic quirks. As the movie drew to its happy ending, it was amazing to witness the whole theatre – children and adults alike gasp with joy as Cinderella walks into the Ball or stars clapping when her kindness finally wins over cruelty.
The film, directed by Kenneth Branagh, made its worldwide premiere on February 13. From Friday onwards, it is being screened at 11am, 1.45pm, 4.30pm and 7.15pm. So whether you want to take your children to a movie they will love or you just want to relive your childhood stories, head to Star Cineplex, grab the popcorn and enjoy.
