Add some panache to your party makeup!
Any fashionista worth her stilettos should never be caught dead looking any less than her fabulous self, no matter what the occasion. The new season has brought with it new trends and styles, which require minor tweaks to one's existing makeup styles. So in order to keep up with changing trends look no further and read on!
Firstly, this year, the skin is the star of the show. Clear, radiant skin that has a lit-from-within glow is most covetable; as such skin needs little to no makeup. Tinted moisturisers and BB creams are great options to attain flawless skin, as these new generation products tackle multiple issues.
They conceal blemishes, provide good coverage and give beautiful sheen and glow to the skin. This year, shine-free, velvety skin with underlying gleam is all the rage. For parties, subtle touches of highlighter on the apples of cheeks add instant glamour to the face.
Spring is here, which means makeup gets awash with lots of fresh, pretty colours. Soft, delicate shades of green, pink, blue and plum look sweet and sophisticated.
The classic smoky eye is back with a bang this year; the only difference is black eye shadow has been replaced with jewel toned shades such as teal, aubergine, deep green and plum. Harsh, defined lines are a big no no. Instead, the smoky effect that is more of a soft haze is desirable. The inner corner of the eye, when dusted with shimmery highlighter brings a new dimension to the smoky eye. A thick line of black eyeliner with a slight flick at the end, complete with full, voluminous lashes completes the look beautifully.
Another aspect to eye makeup to bear in mind is the eyebrow. Overly penciled, thin eyebrows of yore have been replaced with thick yet well-groomed ones, which look natural and healthy. For parties, do not forget to fill them in with a pencil or brow powder. Use a bit of highlighting shadow in a pearl or silver shade on the brow bone to define them even more. For lips, vibrant shades of plum and berry are very hot this year. These shades are different than their dark, drier counterparts that were in last year. Jewel-toned variants of these hues that are hydrating and glossy look fabulous when worn in the evenings.
Add a bright, juicy shade of blush in shades of ruby and apricot to the mix and you're all set to be the belle of every ball this party season!
