Cycling at Cox's Bazaar Marine Drive Road
To promote slogans like "Dekhun Bangladesh, Janun Bangaldesh", cyclist Mohammad Abul Hossain, Mohammad Rubel and travel writer Mansur Aziz decided to cycle their way from Cox's Bazaar to Teknaf via the Marine Drive Road on 28 December, 2016.
To commemorate the Bangladesh Tourism Year, sightseeing operator Pathik Limited arranged the cycling campaign. The event was led by Mohammad Abul Hossain, to popularise Cox's Bazaar and the Marine Drive Road, to the people of the world.
The campaign was divided into two episodes, with the first being cycling from Cox's Bazar to Inani beach and the second episode involving cycling from Inani towards Teknaf - a total of 87km.
The experienced cyclists commented that the Marine Drive is perfect for international level cycling. In fact, international cycling competitions could also be arranged at Marine Drive. According to them, if this road could be popularised, we could be expecting an increase in the influx of foreign tourists in Bangladesh.
