Home Junction
Home Junction is an online home décor store and is the brainchild of three wonderful women - Titly Ferdous, Badhon Hossain and Azwa Nayeem. It is a store unlike any other, with the intention of creating a positive social impact, while supporting multiple beneficial causes for both the environment and the people in our society.
Jute has always been the source of pride in our country but for the last decade, it hasn't been doing as well as it should. With that mind, the three strong women created all their home décor products with jute, starting from their cushion
covers, ottomans, table mats, runners and even bags with their funky, perky designs on traditional jute material. It is a fusion of our custom and colours embedded in their products.
All their products are manufactured seasonally, meaning entirely new different set of products and designs are produced. Keeping the seasons as a theme, they change the colour and unique designs. This summer, they are focusing on teal and orange to introduce a vibrant vibe to our homes. They experienced a massive boon in sales from Victory Day and Mother's Day. For both the occasion, they created a special set of designs and their entire batch was entirely sold out in days!
Home Junction focuses on limited production to maintain quality, but despite that, their products have been catching the attention of people of all ages, as well as foreigners and expatriates who like to take these items as souvenirs.
Home Junction is more exceptional than any other business model. This business model was created to support a foundation known as 'Alokito Foundation' located in Tangail, where underprivileged children working in factories are educated. Initially, that was the idea but now they are growing and also admitting local under-privileged children. This foundation not only teaches the national curriculum certified by the government, but also some unique set of practical skills for day-to-day work. The co-owners support this brilliant project, and Home Junction is the business unit that supports the foundation. This is why a certain percentage of every purchase made in Home Junction contributes to the education of disadvantaged children.
Moreover, the factory for manufacturing the product line is located in Lalmatia where they train and support young women to earn a living and become independent.
Home Junction is only available through their Facebook page. However, they also participate in various exhibitions such as MIB meet ups, and Eco Fair. For the future, they dream of expanding Home Junction into a retail lifestyle store that supports the use of organic products and green living. It will not be any regular retail store for home décor, but rather an exclusive store that promotes a sustainable living with elegant set of deigns and product line.
This Eid, they introduced a new product line with the theme of Dhaka. The designs are not traditional, but rather a fusion of traditional Dhaka and unique colours and patterns. The prices, given below, have remained unchanged since the first day:
