Locals gather around a Nilgai, also known as Blue Bull, in Joduar village of Thakurgaon's Ranisankail upazila yesterday afternoon, hours after some youths captured the antelope from the bank of the Kulic river, around 20 kilometres away from the Indian border. This 5.5-foot long animal, critically endangered in Bangladesh, was later sent to Ramsagar Jatiya Udyan, a wildlife sanctuary in Dinajpur, for treatment of injuries it sustained while being chased by the youths. Villagers said it might have crossed into Bangladesh from India. Photo: Quamrul Islam Rubaiyat
