Five girders of an under construction bridge on Pagla-Jagannathpur-Raniganj-Aushkandi regional highway in Sunamganj’s Jagannathpur upazila collapsed Sunday night. Officials of the construction company, MM Builders and Engineers Ltd, claimed that the accident happened when a hydraulic jack broke during the installation of a girder on a pear.
