The Sarak Paribahan Malik-Sramik Oikya Parishad, a joint platform of owners and workers, organised a rally to protest the ongoing blockade and arson attacks on vehicles. As the turnout was poor, activists of the organisation were dragging pedestrians to the gathering, like what they do to draw passengers to their buses. Locals use pieces of bricks and stones as a last-ditch effort to cover potholes permeating the Khilzi Road in Mohammadpur as a portion of the road has been in dire need of repairs for almost five years. However, the makeshift arrangement is not a solution at all as it makes it difficult for vehicles, especially rickshaws, to ply the road as pullers have to put in almost double the effort to go over the bricks.
