Ignoring a ban, a group of men catching fish with gill nets on the Padma in Munshiganj yesterday, a day before the 65-day fishing ban ends. The use of gill nets is also prohibited. The government is set to celebrate the National Fisheries Week from today.

People, mostly Rajshahi University admission seekers and their guardians, wait in long queues at Khulna Railway Station yesterday to buy tickets to Rajshahi. Many said they could not purchase tickets despite waiting for hours since Thursday night. Several thousand students from Khulna region are expected to take the university entrance exams, scheduled for July 25-27.
