A massive fire broke out in 20 warehouses under a structure in Suritola of the capital’s Nawabpur around 10:00pm yesterday. At least 14 fire engines with the help of an army team brought the blaze under control after around one and a half hours. No casualties were reported.

A 70-year-old woman patient, who according to her family members suffered a stroke, is being transferred from a small boat to a launch heading for Dhaka at Monpura ghat of Bhola to be treated at a hospital in the capital. WINGS OF PARADISE: A male Indian Paradise Flycatcher feeding his chicks with utmost care in a nest resting between the twigs of a tree in Sherpur. Like most birds, both genders of this species share the responsibilities of the family. These passerine birds, native to most of Asia, are widely distributed and are in the “Least Concern” category in the IUCN’s red list.
