Children are being treated for diarrhoea which, according to doctors, is particular to winter at the icddr,b hospital in the capital. Hospital authorities say most of the cases are caused by rotavirus, the infection of which rises as temperatures drop. On January 1 this year, 850 children were admitted to the hospital.
