NBL terms case filed against Ron Haque Sikder 'baseless and fabricated'
National Bank Limited, a concern of Sikder Group of Companies, today sent an explanation to The Daily Star after the newspaper published on its online version a news report with the headline "Case filed over attempt to shoot Exim Bank top officials".
In the explanation, signed by Advocate Abdul Baset Majumder, NBL said in a police case Ron Haque Sikder, managing director of Sikder Group, has been accused of applying for Tk 500 crore loan from Exim Bank.
NBL claimed Ron Haque Sikder did not apply for any such loan.
It said the case was filed to socially demean Ron Haque Sikder.
It further said Ron Haque, National Bank Limited and its board of directors have been running businesses in different sectors with reputation in Bangladesh.
The explanation said the case was "baseless and fabricated" and filed for nothing but to demean Ron Haque, National Bank and its board of directors.
