Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu, a senior Awami League leader and lawmaker, will be laid to rest at his family graveyard in Anwara upazila after Asr prayers today.
Akhtaruzzaman, also an organiser of the Liberation War, passed away in Singapore on Sunday. He was 71.
His first namaz-e-janaza was held at South Plaza of the parliament building at 11:00am yesterday and the second one at Jamiahtul Falah National Mosque in Chittagong city after Asr prayers.
His third namaz-e-janaza will be held at Pashchim Patiya AJ Chowdhury College ground at 11:00am today, the fourth one at Anwara High School ground at 2:00pm, and the final one at Hyle Dhor School ground after Asr prayers.
Akhtaruzzaman was elected member of the provincial assembly in 1970 and MP in 1986, 1991 and 2008 from Anwara in Chittagong.
