Bangladesh-Japan consultation meet begins
The two-day annual consultation meeting between Bangladesh and its largest bilateral development partner Japan began in the city yesterday, reports BSS.
The understanding reached in the meeting forms the basis of Japanese assistance to Bangladesh in the next financial year.
The main issues of discussion were the Japan's ODA policy and development assistance to Bangladesh, economic policy and development plan of Bangladesh, implementation of on-going projects and programmes proposed for future Japanese assistance.
Suhel Ahmed, leader of Bangladesh delegation and Takeshi Yagi, leader of the six-member Japanese delegation, spoke at the opening session.
The Japanese delegation headed by Takeshi Yagi, Director, Grant Aid Division of the Economic Co-operation Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, arrived in Dhaka on Friday.
The Japanese mission will leave Dhaka for Tokyo tomorrow.
