7 killed in collision between 2 buses in Natore

Seven persons, including two siblings, were killed and at least 20 injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Bonpara municipal area of Natore today.

The accident took place around 11.20am in Mahishbhanga area, reports our Natore correspondent.

Four of the deceased were identified as Kawsar (18) and his sister Sadia (13) of Natore Sadar upazila, Mohona Akter Mili (25) of Natore's Lalpur upazila and Jalil of Tangail.

Six of the deceased died on the spot while another at the hospital.

Confirming the accident, Natore District Superintendent of Police (SP) Liton Kumar Saha said the accident took place when a bus of National Paribahan from Dhaka collided with and a Dhaka-bound bus of Siam Paribahan.

On information, fire service members rushed to the spot and sent the injured to different hospitals including local upazila health complex.
