Two killed in separate road accidents in Dinajpur
At least two people were killed, and several others injured in separate road accidents in Dinajpur Sadar upazila and Ghoraghat upazila today.
The deceased were identified as Sourab Hembram, 30, from Kasba Bishoppara area under Dinajpur Sadar upazila, and Al-Amin, 55, from Chandaikona village in Sirajganj Sadar upazila.
In Dinajpur Sadar, a passenger bus collided with a battery-run easy-bike at Chuniapara village on the Dinajpur-Gobindaganj regional highway around 3:00pm, said Motiur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dinajpur Sadar Police Station.
The bus was on the way to Dhaka from Dinajpur when it hit the easy-bike, injuring three passengers. Locals rushed the injured to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Sourab dead.
Police have seized the bus, the OC added.
In a separate incident, Al-Amin, a helper of a passenger bus, died after falling from the bus' rooftop while assisting a passenger to unload luggage at Raniganj Bazar in Ghoraghat upazila last night, said Md Nazmul Haq, OC of Ghoraghat Police Station.
Locals rescued him and took him to the upazila health complex, where the doctor declared him dead.
Investigations of both incidents are ongoing, police confirmed.
