BGB patrol team attacked in Cumilla, vehicle vandalised
A Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) patrol team came under attack allegedly by a group of drug peddlers at Shashongacha in Cumilla last night (May 10, 2022).
The incident took place at 8pm last night, reports our Cumilla correspondent quoting Kamal Krisna Dhar, inspector of Kotwali Model Police Station.
On information, a police team rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, he said.
According to locals, a group of drug peddlers chased a BGB patrol team and hurled stones targeting the officials, police claimed.
Later, BGB officials took shelter at the camp of Railway Max Company Limited, the police officer said citing locals.
The drug peddlers also entered into the camp and vandalised a BGB vehicle, he added. They also hurled stones at the camp.
No BGB official statement was found in this regard.
According to police sources, a BGB team went to a nearby police station to file a case in this connection.
