A man was arrested yesterday by the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in connection with the murder of an individual in Narayanganj on Eid-ul-Fitr this year.

The arrestee is Jubayer Ahmed, 28, from Bandar upazila.

According to a press release issued this morning by Rab, an altercation had broken out over a trivial matter on March 31, in the Kashipur Madhyapara area of Fatullah, Narayanganj.

During the the argument, the victim, Pavel, 30, was shot dead.

He later died undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital that afternoon.

Following the incident, Pavel's mother filed a murder case at Fatullah Model Police Station.

Rab-11 Operations Officer Golam Morshed stated in the press release that the arrested suspect, Jubayer, confessed to being involved in the murder.

However, the prime accused in the case, Raihan Babu, is still on the run, the press release added.
