Pritom Das walks out of jail 131 days after arrest in DSA case
Pritom Das, a leader of left-leaning organisation Rashtra Sangskar Andolan, walked out of jail on bail yesterday, 131 days after he was arrested in a case filed under the Digital Security Act on for "hurting religious sentiment".
Moulvibazar Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court-2 granted him bail yesterday morning in response to a bail petition, Pritom's lawyer Abul Hasan said.
The lawyer said Pritom had been in jail since September 10 last year after the DSA case was filed with Sreemangal Police Station.
Pritom was freed from Moulvibazar jail at 6:00pm yesterday. Soon after he was released, he returned to his home in Sreemangal town, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent.
Mahbub Alam Bhuiyan, an activist of Chhatra League, filed the case.
