Find new destinations for sending skilled manpower: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today asked authorities concerned to find new destinations for sending skilled manpower.
She also instructed them to arrange appropriate training for the overseas jobs seekers to make them skilled.
The PM made the comments as she was delivering a speech at the second meeting of the Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Affairs National Steering Committee at Gono Bhaban.
"We have manpower in different countries, but we have to find more destinations," said the PM.
She asked the authorities concerned to figure out which country needs what kind of skilled manpower.
"We will provide training to them accordingly," the PM added.
She said appropriate steps should be taken to protect the overseas jobs seekers from falling prey to frauds and middlemen.
Stressing on proper channel to go abroad and getting appropriate jobs, she said the vital foreign currency earners must be protected from middlemen and frauds.
"It is very much important for us to ensure that these people must not fall prey to the fraudulent people and middlemen," she said mentioning instances of such activities.
She put emphasis on creating public awareness against going abroad for jobs through middlemen.
During the heavy pressure on economy for coronavirus pandemic and Russia-Ukraine war, the income of the expatriates contributed a lot in the country's reserve and overall development, said the prime minister.
