Govt announces public holidays on June 11, 12 for extended Eid-ul-Azha vacations

The government has announced public holidays on June 11 and 12, 2025 (Wednesday and Thursday) for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
The decision was communicated through a Ministry of Public Administration executive order.
These additional holidays will extend the Eid vacation to 10 days, starting from June 5 and ending on June 14.
To compensate for the extended holidays, all government, semi-government, autonomous, semi-autonomous, and private offices will remain open on two Saturdays preceding the month of June, on May 17 and May 24.
Essential services, including electricity, water, gas, fuel, fire service, port operations, sanitation, telephone and internet services, postal services, and their associated workers and vehicles, will remain outside the scope of this holiday declaration.
Similarly, hospitals, emergency services, and all personnel involved in medical care and the transport of medicines and equipment will also remain operational. Offices involved in urgent duties will not be affected by the holiday.
The Bangladesh Bank and the Supreme Court will issue separate directives regarding banking operations and court activities during this period.
