10-point demand: BNP to start 4-day march in the capital tomorrow

The BNP is going to start a four-day march in the capital tomorrow to press home its 10-point demand, including holding the national election under a non-partisan government.

Speaking at a press conference at the BNP's Nayapaltan central office, party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir yesterday announced that they would stage the programme tomorrow, on January 30, 31 and February 1.

The Dhaka north city BNP will march from Shahjadpur to Abul  Hotel in Malibagh tomorrow and from Gabtoli to Mirpur-10 intersection on  January 31.

On January 30, the Dhaka south city unit BNP will march  from Jatrabari to Shyampur and from Mugda to Malibagh on February 1.

In reply to a query, Fakhrul said, "The BNP announced the programme and will discuss it with like-minded political parties. If they want to, they can observe the same programme."

The BNP leader said their march programmes would be held peacefully with spontaneous participation of people from all walks of life.
