Baroness Paula accorded reception
SYLHET, Jan 15: Baroness Paula Manjila Uddin, the first Bengali member of the British House of Lords, has stressed the need for proper development of children through better education and training, reports APB.
She was speaking at a reception accorded to her at Sylhet Pourasava auditorium on Thursday.
There should be close coordination between Bangladeshi expatriates in London and the people in the country for better education and training facilities for children, she said.
Bangladeshi expatriates are always ready to extend any help and cooperation in this regard, she added.
She mentioned that Britain and Bangladesh had historic ties, which would be strengthened in the days ahead.
Chief of the Editorial Board of Dainik Sylheter Dak, Ragib Ali, Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet, Ali Imam Majumder and Habiganj Pourasava Chairman Shahid Chowdhury also addressed the function, presided over by Sylhet Pourasava Chairman Badar Uddin Ahmed Qamran.
