Fire at Lalbagh plastic godown put out

A fire that broke out at a plastic godown in Dhaka's Lalbagh area yesterday night was doused early in the morning today.

The fire originated in a building of the plastic godown at Alighat around 11:23pm and it soon engulfed the nearby rooms, said Nazma Akhter, a duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters.

On information, 15 firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 6:50am.

The cause of the fire as well as the extent of losses could not yet be ascertained.

However, there was no causality.
