Bus driver, owner sued over Kushtia baby girl’s death

A case has been filed against three people, including a bus driver and its owner, in connection with the death of a baby girl in an accident in Kushtia district town. 

Harunur Rashid, father of the deceased, filed the case against bus driver Khokon, its owner Joynul and supervisor Yunus with Kushita Model Police Station on Thursday night, said its officer-in-charge (OC) Nasir Uddin.

On Thursday, Akifa, a one-year-old daughter of Harunur Rashid, who sustained injuries after she fell from her mother Rina Akter's lap when a bus of 'Ganj-e-raj Paribahan' hit the mother in the town on Tuesday, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 4:45am.

They were taken to General Hospital from where Afifa was referred to the DMCH for better treatment where the baby girl died early Thursday, her father said.

The video footage of the incident went viral on the social networking site Facebook, sparking an uproar among locals.
