New envoy to Turkey presents credentials

The new Bangladesh Ambassador to Turkey Nazimullah Chowdhury presented his credentials to Suleyman Demirel, President of Turkey, at a colourful ceremony at the Presidential Palace of Turkey on Thursday, reports BSS.

A message received yesterday said that the ambassador was given a guard of honour by a contingent of the Presidential Guard Regiment.

President Demirel welcoming the new ambassador, recalled the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries. He said the relations are not only "state to state but from people to people."

Demirel reiterated the desire of Turkish government to forge closer relations with Bangladesh, particularly in the field of trade and investment.
