President, PM greet chairman of SPDC of Myanmar

President Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed has felicitated General Than Shwe, Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC) of the Union of Myanmar on the occasion of Myanmar's independence day, reports UNB.

In a message yesterday, the President expressed his confidence that the existing friendly relations between the two neighbouring countries will be further strengthened in the years to come.

President Shahabuddin also wished good health, long life and happiness of General Than Shwe and continued peace, progress and prosperity of the Myanmar people.

In a similar message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has greeted General Than Shwe, Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC) of the Union of Myanmar and the people of Myanmar on the some occasion.

The Prime Minister, in a message, hoped that the existing close bonds of friendship, mutual understanding and fruitful cooperation between Bangladesh and Myanmar will acquire greater depth and dimension in the years ahead.

She wished good health, happiness and long life of General Shwe and continued peace, progress and prosperity of the friendly people of Myanmar.
