EDU wins Royal Cement – Drishty Chittagong Brainstorming 2018

Brainstorming, a business idea and presentation contest took place from July 11-28, 2018 in the port city of Chittagong organised by Drishty Chittagong. The event was patronised by Royal Cement Ltd.

Drishty Chittagong, an educational and cultural organisation of port city hosted the ninth season where 120 participants from 40 teams of different universities joined. The contest was inaugurated by Jashim U Ahmed, Managerial Editor, The Daily Purbokone along with Avik Osman, Media Advisor, GPH Ispat.

The grand finale of this contest took place at The Peninsula Chittagong where Naquib Khan, musician and Director, Corporate Affairs, Nestle Bangladesh Ltd.; Mohammad Moshsin, Vice Chairperson, PHP Family; Wahed Malek, Managerial Editor, The Daily Azadi; Kayes Chowdhury, Executive Vice President, The City Bank Limited; Sabbir Ahmed, General Manager (Finance); and Prof. Mir Mohammad Nurul Absar, Dean of Business Faculty, Chittagong Independent University were present as adjudicators. Four finalist teams presented their business ideas and branding strategies on a local, traditional or heritage product/service of Chittagong where East Delta University clinched the championship trophy of Brainstorming Season 9; Department of Management, University of Chittagong became runners-up and Department of Marketing and Department of Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology of University of Chittagong became second runners-up.

Ali Hussain Akber Ali, Chairman, BSRM Group of Companies was present as chief guest of the award giving session where S.M. Abu Tayub, President, International Business Forum - Chittagong Chapter; Safia Ghazi Rahman, Principal, Sunshine Grammar School; Engineer Faysal Naser Khan, Chief Communication Officer, Royal Cement Ltd; Saif Chowdhury, Senior Vice President, Drishty Chittagong; and Dr. Adnan Mannan, Assistant Professor, University of Chittagong were present as guests of honour. Bankusum Barua and Shahidul Islam, Vice President of Drishty Chittagong; and Mujibur Rahman Moni, Joint Secretary, Drishty Chittagong also attended the ceremony.

This session was presided by Masud Bakul, President, Drishty Chittagong and hosted by Saber Shah, General Secretary, Drishty Chittagong and Zunayed Kaushik Chowdhury, Joint Secretary, Drishty Chittagong.

Rotary Club of Chittagong Mid City, SHOUT (The Daily Star) and East Delta University were the partners of this event.
