Bangladesh announce preliminary squad for Asia Cup
The Bangladesh Cricket Board announced a 31-man preliminary squad that will take part in the training camp from August 27 to prepare for the Asia Cup which is scheduled to start on September 15.
Taskin Ahmed has been left out of the lineup due to an injury while 19-year-old medium-fast bowler Yeasin Arafat, who had made the preliminary squad for the West Indies tour has been left out. Abul Hasan Raju has also been excluded while Syed Khaled Ahmed and Fazle Rabbi Mahmud were the upcoming players who will take part in the training camp at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National stadium.
The Tigers are currently on a high having won the ODI and T20 series in West Indies and since the Asia Cup will return to the 50-0ver format at United Arab Emirates, the Tigers will back themselves up to do well. Bangladesh will play against Sri Lanka in the 2018 Asia Cup opener on September 15 in the UAE.
