The Indian government today apprised an all-party meeting on the success of the armed forces' strike on, what it claimed to be, "terror camps" deep inside Pakistan and its aftermath amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.

Federal ministers Rajnath Singh (defence), Amit Shah (home), S Jaishankar (foreign), J P Nadda (health), and Nirmala Sitharaman (finance) represented the government, while top opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sudip Bandyopadhyay of Trinamool Congress, and DMK's T R Baalu were among the leading opposition figures in the meeting. Rajnath Singh chaired the meeting.

This was the second time that top government functionaries and opposition leaders met in a fortnight amidst growing tensions between India and Pakistan.

Pakistan's shelling along the line of control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir has so far claimed the lives of 13 civilians in the Poonch sector and injured 59 people, according to the Indian foreign ministry.

As calls across the world grow for restraint by India and Pakistan, Iranian foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi and Saudi Arabia's state minister for foreign affairs, Adel Al-Jubeir, are both in India now.

On an unannounced visit, Al-Jubeir held talks with Indian foreign minister S Jaishankar today, with a focus on de-escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

Al-Jubeir's visit to New Delhi comes as the already frosty ties between India and Pakistan plummet further following the Indian military strikes.

"A good meeting with @AdelAljubeir, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia this morning," Jaishankar said in a social media post.

Araghchi is now on a two-day visit to India after his trip to Pakistan for co-chairing the 20th Joint Commission Meeting between India and Iran.
