Samad Azad to attend Lankan Independence Day celebration
Foreign Minister Abdus Samad Azad left city for Colombo yesterday to attend the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Independence Day of Sri Lanka, reports UNB.
Azad and his delegation members are attending the Golden Jubilee celebration at the invitation of the Sri Lankan government.
During his stay in Colombo, Azad is expected to hold talks with his Sri Lankan counterpart Lakhsam Kadir Gama on bilateral matters. He is also expected to make courtesy call on President Chandrika Kumaratunga and Prime Minister Srimavo Bandarnayeke.
The Bangladesh Foreign Minister is expected to meet foreign ministers of SAARC member states and other countries and hold talks on bilateral issues.
