President, PM greet Sri Lankan president
President Shahabuddin Ahmed yesterday felicitated Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka on the occasion of the National Day of the country, reports BSS.
The President expressed his belief that the existing friendly relations between the two countries and peoples would be further strengthened in the years ahead.
President Shahabuddin Ahmed, in a message also expressed his sincere greetings and warm felicitations on the happy occasion of the 50th National Day of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday felicitated Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka on the occasion of the national day of the country, reports BSS.
The Prime Minister in her message said, "On behalf of the government and the people of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, I have great pleasure in conveying to your excellency and through you to the friendly people of Sri Lanka our heartiest felicitations on the national day of Sri Lanka".
"It is my sincere belief that this 50th year of independence of Sri Lanka will bring for the country and the people further progress and prosperity," she added.
The Prime Minister expressed her confidence that the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries would be further strengthened in the days ahead to the mutual benefit of the peoples of two countries.
