Baroness Pola Uddin calls on Hasina, Samad
Baroness Pola Uddin, member of the British House of Lords yesterday made a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official Gonobhaban Residence, reports BSS.
British High Commissioner to Bangladesh David C Walker was present on the occasion.
Baroness Pola Uddin also called on Foreign Minister Abdus Samad Azad at the latter's office yesterday and exchanged views on matters of mutual interests.
Baroness Uddin informed the foreign minister about the current activities of the House of Lords and its future reform programmes.
The Foreign Minister thanked the government of the United Kingdom for its assistance during the recent flood.
British High Commissioner to Bangladesh David C Walker, research associate of the House of Lords Nurul Islam, renowned industrialist and social worker Ragib Ali, Kamar Uddin, husband of Baroness Uddin and high officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present.
