BCL man killed in Sunamganj clash
A Bangladesh Chhatra League leader was killed in a clash between the activists of BCL and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) in Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj today.
Masud Ahmed, BCL vice-president of Chhatak Technical School and College unit, was declared dead after he was whisked off to Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet this evening, police said.
The clash started after a group of JCD activists intercepted a BCL man near Chhatak upazila town this afternoon, said Shahjalal Munshi, officer-in-charge of Chhatak Police Station.
The official said the law enforcers fired 199 rounds of rubber bullets and 65 teargas canisters to disperse the activists, reports our Sylhet correspondent.
The other injured were taken to Chhatak Upazila Health Complex and Sunamganj Sadar Hospital.
