At the National Film Day …

“Surjo-Konnya”, the 1976 film directed by Alamgir Kabir starred Syed Ahsan Ali Sydney and Jayashree. A number of visitors at the National Film Day exhibition at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) were seen keenly looking at the poster of “Surjo-Konnya” and others on display, lost in nostalgia. Numerous posters of films from various eras of Bangladeshi cinemas were displayed all around BFDC, taking the attendees back to the golden days of cinema.

Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu inaugurated the National Film Day, in presence of Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, Information Ministry Secretary Mortuza Ahmed, National Film Day Celebration Committee Chairman, Mayak Raj Razzak, and others. Following a festive procession, a seminar was held where the guests spoke.

A number of film veterans were present, including Syed Hasan Imam, Javed, Ilias Kanchan, Danny Sidak, and directors like Kazi Hayat and Motin Rahman. A huge number of  people attended the event, watched the exhibitions, and took photos with the stars. They also enjoyed a vibrant cultural programme in the afternoon.
