4 Mymensingh ‘JMB militants’ held with gunpowder
Detectives today claimed of arresting four militants of banned militant group Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Mymensingh Sadar upazila.
Held with gunpowder and religiously instigating books, police said they were planning to sabotage local celebration of Bangla New Year Pahela Baishakh.
The arrestees – Alamgir Hossain, 22, Jahangir Hossain, 25, Hasan Ali, 22, and Billal Hossain, 43, - were arrested from Dapunia area, our Mymensingh correspondent reports.
Imarat Hossain Gazi, officer-in-charge of local Detective Branch, said, based on a tip-off, police busted a secret meeting they were holding in the area around 3:00am.
They said to have confessed their involvement with the banned outfit. Two separate cases under Explosives Act and Anti-terrorism Act were lodged with Kotwali Police Station in this connection.
