BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has come up heavily on the ruling Awami League accusing its leaders and activists of creating an anarchical situation in the country.

“The ruling party goons have created an anarchical situation in the country by indulging in reckless and willful activities,” Khaleda Zia said in a press statement floated for the media this afternoon.

The ruling Awami League has destroyed all usual operational way in administration and law enforcement agencies by shameful politicization, Khaleda blamed in the statement.

Government officials are being assaulted when they are ignoring unjustified and unrealistic pleas of the ruling party activists, the former prime minister said pulling reference to an alleged assault of a Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) in Feni.

“People nowadays are worried as the government is unleashing barbaric rule caring not for the country’s rule of law,” the BNP chief said.

A representative democratic government is needed through holding a competitive national election to get rid the situation, Khaleda underscored the need.
