Diploma physicians and students of Medical Assistant Training School (MATS) announce to go on a break in service for two hours from 11:00am to 1:00pm indefinitely over their five-fold demand.

Spokespersons of the physicians and students on strike said this in a release issued this evening, adding that they will continue the break in service until authorities meet their demands.

Their demands include eligibility to pursue higher studies (MBBS), elevating their rank and pay scale from Grade 10 to Grade 11 equivalent to that of a deputy assistant community medical officer, and policy and stipend for the interns.

The spokespersons also urged the government to support their cause and take prompt actions to meet their demands.
