The role of a HR professional can vary depending on the size of the organisation. The bigger the company you work for, the more employees it will have and the larger the HR function needs to be to operate effectively. This also means more specialised HR positions.
All types of organisation recruit HR professionals, from multi-national companies employing thousands of workers to smaller organisations with fewer than 250 staff members (SMEs). Each employer has its advantages and disadvantages and it's up to you to decide which environment is right for you. However, there is usually a common progression of HR positions that exists through the years.
