Barsha Mangal Utshab held in Thakurgaon

The 8th Barsha Mangal Utshab was held at Eco Pathshala and College premises at Gobindanagar village in Thakurgaon municipality area on Friday. The programme included renditions of monsoon -themed Tagore, modern and folk songs.

The soiree began with a choral song “Borisho Dhora Majhe Shantiro Bari”, followed by 'Esho Nipobon-e”, “Pagla Hawar Badal Dine”,”Ei Je Gari Dhoria Jan Garial” and more. The programme ended with another choral song “Abar Jombe Mela Haat Tola Bot-tola”.

Following the Barsha Mangal Utshab, a discussion was held, where discussants said the beauty of monsoon is incomparable to other seasons.

The discussants were also of the view that writers and poets have written about different seasons. But Rabindranath illustrated the nature competently in his songs, and submitted a true picture of the country's six seasons, especially monsoon.

Lokayan Museum, an initiative of ESDO, organised the programme. A good number of people, including women and children, enjoyed the event.

Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Chandra Biswas as chief guest, Additional Deputy Commissioner Monjur Alam Prodhan as special guest with Chairman of Lokayan Museum and chaired by Executive Director of ESDO Muhammad Shahid-Uz-Zaman attended the event.
