Jamaica seal place in final
After going through a fine spell in the Carribean Premier League thus far, Jamaica Tallawahs' Shakib Al Hasan could not have been too pleased with what transpired in their match against the Barbados Tridents on Wednesday.
Although his team won by 36 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method, thereby sealing a place in the final of the tournament, Shakib was run out for a duck after a miscommunication off the first ball he faced before he was denied the opportunity to bowl a single over.
However in the match, which was reduced to 18-overs-a-side after rainfall at Sabina Park, Jamaica amassed 195 runs after being sent out to bat.
West Indies' Chadwick Walton was in tremendous touch, scoring a 54-ball 97 with nine fours and five sixes as he paired with half-centurion Kumar Sangakkara for a 123-run second-wicket stand.
After the exchange, Dale Steyn picked up four wickets as the Tridents were cleaned up for 159.
