Habiganj 4-kid murder charge framing Sept 1
A Habiganj court today fixed September 1 for the charge framing in the sensational case of killing four school going children in Bahubal of the district.
Habiganj Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Mafruza Parveen fixed the date this afternoon, reports our correspondent quoting Abul Hasem Mullah Masum, special public prosecutor of the tribunal.
Four schoolboys--Monir Mia, 7, Zakaria Shuvo, 8, Tajel Mia, 10, and Ismail Mia, 10 –were killed on February 12 over the enmity between two groups in local Panchayat (village arbitration council), according to the charge sheet submitted to the court.
Detectives on April 5 pressed charges against the nine people -- Abdul Ali, his two sons Rubel Mia, and Jewel Mia, and Habibur Rahman Arju, Shahed Ahmed Bashir, Bachchu Mia, Babul Mia, Ustar Mia and Billal Mia -- in the case.
Among the accused, Babul Mia, Ustar Mia and Billal Mia are absconding, and Bachchu was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with the Rapid Action Battalion in Chunarughat upazila of the district on February 25.
On June 28, court accepted the charges against the nine accused in the case.
