Ctg ‘yaba trader’ killed in ‘gunfight’
An alleged trader of contraband yaba was killed early today in what Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) said gunfight in Chittagong city.
The deceased was identified as Jahidul Islam alias Alo, 35, our Chittagong correspondent reports quoting Rab-7 official ASP Sohel Mahmud.
The incident said to have taken place in Akbarshah area of the port city around 2:45am. One pistol and about 20,000 yaba tablets were said to have been seized from his possession.
Further details will be revealed in a press meet later in the day, a message floated to the media by Rab in this regard said.
Meanwhile, three persons were said to have been detained from Dhaka’s Jatrabari area last night with 1,17,000 yaba tablets in their possession, Muntasirul Islam, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said.
The law enforcers also seized a car from their possession.
