Pathshala to celebrate World Photography Day

Embracing their love for photography, Pathshala - South Asian Media Institute will celebrate World Photography Day (August 19) 2015. To mark the day, the institute has organised a five-day photography exhibition at its premises. Dr. Shahidul Alam, Principal of Pathshala will inaugurate the exhibition at 5pm today.

A collaborative exhibition, titled “In Ambience” is curated by eight students of Pathshala. The exhibition takes inspiration from eight artists from different backgrounds and will exhibit their works by improvising with available materials. The exhibition will feature various media, with photography enhanced by video and sound installations, and alternative prints.

Apart from the exhibition, artist talks, open discussions, portfolio reviews, live music, and many other activities will take place in parallel with the exhibition. Artist talk by Mahbubur Rahman will take place at 6pm on August 20 while an open discussion by Dr. Shahidul Alam and Mahbubur Rahman will be held at 6pm on August 21. Another artist talk by AH Chanchal will be arranged at 6pm on August 22. A two-hour musical performance will also be held, starting at 7pm on the last day, August 23. The exhibition is open from 3pm to 8pm every day.
