Soumya looking to the heavens
Soumya Sarkar might be seeing both sides of the coin very quickly. The left-hander's arrival to international cricket was outstanding. His fearless batting looked like a gift for world cricket. His inclusion in the team lent a new dimension to the inconsistent Bangladesh batting line-up. Suddenly he lost his rhythm. In ODI cricket, it was not too many matches ago that his bat was on fire but in reality he has been struggling in the other competitions. His performance in the three ODIs against Afghanistan and in the practice match against England just added to his miseries.
He is however trying to leave no stone unturned during practice and yesterday in Mirpur was no exception.
In a brief conversation with a few reporters while he was putting on his pads before going to the indoor nets, the left-hander however now said that he is leaving it to the almighty, especially with the biggest festival for the Hindu community was approaching. "Now I am looking to God for the good times," said Soumya with a pale face.
