Saving the Coral Island
Saint Martin's Island, the only coral island of Bangladesh, has lost most of its splendour due to continuous destruction of its precious coral colonies which is also essential for the existence of the island and its inhabitants. Once, the blue, shallow waters around the island was full of colourful corals. However, now the seabed under murky water is full of dead coral colonies and ailing corals covered with algae, plastic wastes and sediments.
