Rubel confesses raping Garo girl
Rafsan Hossain alias Rubel today confessed to his involvement before a magistrate with raping of a Garo girl at Dhaka’s Uttar Badda last month.
Rubel was directly involved with the raping of the indigenous girl and he willingly gave his confessional statement, said a court official.
But details of the confessional statement given by Rubel could not be known immediately.

On October 25, the 18-year-old indigenous girl was raped after she went to visit her fiancé at his lodging in Uttar Badda area.
Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury recorded statement of Rubel after Sub-Inspector BM Mamun of Badda Police Station and also the investigation officer of the case produced Rubel at his chamber for recording his confessional statement.

In the forwarding report, the IO said during the interrogation of six-day remand Rubel admitted to his guilt and he was agreed to give a willful confessional statement before a magistrate. So, he was brought into the court chamber for recording his statement, the report said.
After recording his statement, the same court ordered to send him to jail.
Rubel and his associates, with the help of the lodging resident, threatened to kill the couple and snatched a cell phone and cash from the young woman's fiancé.
At one stage Rubel took the girl to a nearby garage by force. Later on, he shifted her to an abandoned house and violated her, Rab added.
Rubel, 30, was arrested on November 11 from near Airport Railway Station. But he escaped from police custody on court premises on November 13 after he was brought for recording his confessional statement.
Following the incident, two policemen, Sub-inspector Emran Ul Hasan and Constable Dipak Chandra Poddar who escorted Rubel to the Dhaka court, were suspended.
Later on November 15, law enforcers recaptured Rubel in the capital’s Badda as he was about to board a bus to leave the city.
