3 of a family killed in Jamalpur microbus plunge
Three members of a family were killed and four injured as a microbus plunged into a roadside ditch in Bakshiganj upazila of Jamalpur early today.
The deceased were identified as Babul, 28, a resident of Battala village in Rajibpur upazila, and his wife Shilpi, 20, and their 10-month-old son Abdullah.
Witnesses said a microbus carrying seven passengers fell into a roadside ditch after its driver lost control over the steering at Battamor Natunbazar on the Roumari-Bakshiganj road around 5:30am, leaving the three dead on the spot.
The injured were given first aid at a local hospital.
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police seized the microbus and arrested its driver Abu Bakar from the spot.
Muntasinur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bakshiganj Police Station, confirmed the incident.
A case was filed in this connection.
