U-16 women lose opener
The Bangladesh under-16 women's football team suffered a 1-0 defeat to China's under-14 women's team in their first practice match of the China Tour yesterday, according to a message sent from the Bangladesh Football Federation.
Despite dominating the game in terms of possession the Bangladesh team, which is in China preparing for the AFC U-16 Championships in September, lost the match thanks to a 75th minute goal they conceded.
Ding Lei of the Chinese team scored the decisive goal, taking advantage of a defensive mix-up from the Bangladesh team during the third session of the 90-minute game, which was split into three sessions of 30 minutes each.
The message further mentioned that Bangladesh had a plethora of chances, but failed to score while conceding the only goal against the run of play after they had substituted most of their starting-eleven players.
The Bangladesh team is scheduled to play two more matches against the same opponents and two other matches against Shaanxi province's under-15 team over the next four days.
